FinOps Consultant – Azure and Office 365 – Hexaware

We are seeking an experienced FinOps Consultant with a strong background in cloud cost management, specifically within Azure and Office 365. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in monitoring cloud usage, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing effective cost governance strategies. This role requires hands-on experience in developing and deploying dashboards, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms, as well as driving optimization initiatives.

Must Have Skills 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in cloud cost management, specifically with Azure and Office 365.
• Proven experience in monitoring cloud usage, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing cost governance strategies.
• Hands-on experience in developing and deploying dashboards, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly Azure and Office 365.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Certification in FinOps or relevant cloud certifications.
• Experience with predictive analytics and automated script deployment.
• Knowledge of best practices in cloud financial management and cost optimization.

• • Monitor Azure and Office 365 usage and spending to identify trends, anomalies, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategies for tagging, resource consistency, forecasting/budgeting, and optimization.
  • Set up dashboards, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms to deploy best practices and drive periodic reporting.
  • Implement policies for Cloud Financial Management (CFM) capabilities to support cost governance.
  • Drive periodic policy validations and optimization initiatives.
  • Perform comprehensive reviews of current tagging practices and resource consistency across Azure and Office 365 environments.
  • Develop and configure initial dashboards and KPIs to monitor cloud spend and resource utilization.
  • Implement the first phase of cost governance SOPs, including tagging and policy validation checks.
  • Identify and document initial opportunities for cost optimization, such as unused resources, rightsizing, and reserved instance utilization.
  • Collaborate with the FinOps lead to ensure alignment on cost management strategies.
  • Engage with stakeholders to review the effectiveness of initial cost governance implementations and gather feedback.
  • Deploy automated scripts for tagging validation and policy compliance across cloud environments.
  • Ensure all SOPs and policies are adhered to consistently by coordinating with offshore consultants.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of initial optimization opportunities and implement high-priority items.
  • Document cost savings realized from optimization efforts and begin exploring second-phase initiatives.
  • Enhance dashboards with predictive analytics capabilities to forecast future cloud spend trends.
  • Engage in knowledge transfer sessions with client technical teams to ensure they are prepared to maintain the optimized environment.
  • Expand optimization efforts to include cross-functional cost management and insights from multiple cloud environments.
  • Automate complex optimization tasks to ensure minimal manual intervention.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of all optimization efforts, documenting outcomes and identifying remaining opportunities.
  • Transition optimization management to client teams, providing necessary tools and knowledge.
  • Prepare final optimization reports detailing cost savings and recommendations for ongoing management.
