(Senior) Consultant Software Asset Management / Cloud FinOps (m/f/d)

COMPLION is an independent consulting firm with particular expertise in IT compliance, IT security, and data management.
We advise our clients on the implementation of organizational concepts for the effective management of their IT organization, ensuring license compliance, improving the cost-effectiveness of using standard software and cloud services, and efficiently managing cybersecurity projects.

Through our weekly IT security situation reports and monthly reports on major software vendors, we provide relevant and management-friendly information on market developments.
Our 20-person team comprises specialized experts and experienced management consultants. Our client base includes corporations, large medium-sized businesses, and public sector clients, whom we often support successfully over many years.

As a (Senior) Consultant Software Asset Management / Cloud FinOps (m/f/d), you will advise large corporations and medium-sized businesses on the most cost-effective licensing options and the efficient use of cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS). Possible project tasks include:

• Maturity assessment of software asset and license management
• Introduction of Software Asset Management roles and processes
• (License) needs assessment, contract preparation and negotiation of software license agreements
• Optimization of ongoing Software Asset Management (SAM) operations
• Establishing Cloud FinOps roles and activities
• Reporting and optimization of license and cloud costs
• Training courses on Software Asset Management and Cloud FinOps

You will regularly exchange information with our other SAM and Cloud FinOps experts about market developments and pass on your knowledge to other colleagues.

You should bring the following:

• Completed commercial or technical training
  (e.g. as an IT systems management assistant) and/or Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in (business) informatics, economics, business administration or social sciences as well as natural sciences
• Minimum 1-3 years of practical experience in consulting or a line management role in Software Asset Management / License Management / Software Vendor Manager / Software Contract Manager / Cloud FinOps
• Knowledge and experience in the practical application of the license terms for at least one of the following manufacturers: Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, VMware by Broadcom
• Experience in managing and implementing projects in Software Asset Management
• Experience with common SAM tool solutions on the market (USU, Snow, Flexera, ServiceNow) is desirable.
• Knowledge and experience in Cloud FinOps (e.g., framework, FOCUS datasets, tooling, provider-specific knowledge of AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or willingness to delve deeper into the subject area.
• Knowledge of Cloud FinOps tools (e.g. Apptio Cloudability, CloudHealth, Flexera Cloud Cost Optimization, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Billing Console) preferred
• Strong analytical thinking skills and a good understanding of economic relationships and figures
• Goal-oriented, self-reliant work style with a team player mentality
• Excellent German and English skills (both spoken and written)
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
