IT Asset Analyst II

Position Summary This is a mid-level role that is responsible for supporting IT Asset Management (ITAM) functions, including monitoring and coordinating purchasing and inventory management; and record and monitor equipment related to the County’s information technology assets. This position, under minimal supervision, is responsible for providing technical expertise, analysis, and customer focused work as it relates to hardware, software, and asset maintenance.

Essential Functions

  • Triage and work tickets. Monitor, respond and route emails from shared mailbox.
  • Approve encumbrances related to hardware and software purchases.
  • Audit software licenses to determine usage, ensure compliance with vendor agreements, and control costs
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets (hardware & software) within the asset management tool & CMBD. This includes entering new asset information, updating records, conduct routine audits and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Create and maintain standards for hardware and software and oversee the adherence of those standards
  • Record assets received by the organization and track location or use from purchase to disposal
  • Maintain records of purchase contracts, invoices, payments, or service level agreements

Minimum Qualifications Experience: Minimum of two years of progressively responsible technical systems experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or Logistics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IAITAM Certification in relevant IT asset management discipline (or comparable)
  • Experienced in the management of Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
  • Experience with IT sourcing, or purchasing
  • Experienced with advanced Excel use (pivot tables and macros)
  • Experienced with analyzing data and creating basic reports
