Cloud FinOps Analyst

As a Cloud FinOps Analyst, you’ll work remotely but closely with Finance, Technology and Delivery teams across the business. You’ll manage cost visibility and optimisation for a $7m+ AWS environment, ensuring spend is intentional, well‑forecast and delivering value. Partnering with project and engineering squads, you’ll cost new products and enhancements, track delivery spend against forecasts, and clearly communicate financial impact and ROI. This role is proactive by nature, encouraging early engagement, continuous improvement and a strong cost‑aware culture.

This role will suit someone with a strong AWS cost management background e.g. Cloud Cost Analyst, Cloud Financial Analyst, Cloud Cost Optimisation Analyst or AWS FinOps Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own cost management and optimisation across a $7m+ AWS estate, identifying efficiencies and reducing waste
  • Partner with project and engineering teams to cost new initiatives and product improvements, factoring spend into ROI
  • Track build and delivery costs throughout the lifecycle, ensuring spend aligns with agreed forecasts
  • Produce clear, monthly cost reporting by dissecting detailed AWS usage and allocating OPEX by team
  • Promote cost visibility and accountability across engineering squads, embedding a cost‑aware culture

Interested? Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:

  • Strong, hands‑on experience with AWS services, pricing models and cost optimisation (mandatory)
  • Proven experience in FinOps, cloud financial management or a DevOps role with cost accountability
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex cost data into clear insight
  • A proactive, self‑starter approach with the confidence to engage and challenge stakeholders remotely
  • Experience working closely with project and engineering teams to manage budgets, forecasting and ROI
