Sr. Cloud Economics Analyst – Cloud Economics

Job Description

  • Expertise with public cloud billing concepts, services, typical spend patterns, and cost saving tactics
  • Direct experience with AWS, Azure and GCP bill file formats is preferred
  • Experience and comfort with building and delivering presentations to clients, or external audiences
  • Ability to work with customers to understand current and emerging usage / cost savings needs and translate into product requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the public cloud providers, their products, costing mechanisms and applicable use cases, best practices and implementation, and support considerations.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, cloud computing and their sales drivers
  • Proven experience in a customer facing role driving discussions with business and technical personnel regarding design, development and financial best practices
  • Previous experience working directly with client’s business representatives to understand the requirements driving the need for the solution to be delivered
  • The ability to connect cloud technology with measurable business value is a critical component to be successful in this role
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
  • Excellent communication skills appropriate for working with Sales professionals and Fortune 2000 clients
  • A high level of initiative and adaptability
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communications skills
  • Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment
  • Ability to earn customer trust and influence decision making at the strategic (CxO, VP) and the technical (Architect, Engineer) level
  • Lead remote and on-site engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer requirements, generating consulting proposals, authoring Cloud Economics best practice blogs and whitepapers as well as creating packaged service offerings
  • Expertise in OLTP and OLAP systems design
  • Experience driving discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation

Qualifications

  • experience producing creative solutions and strategies for enterprise grade clients
  • Past successful collaboration with internal resources; including Professional Services, Managed Services, & Solution Development teams to develop solutions
  • Work effectively across internal and external organizations
  • Ensure that our applications and infrastructure are designed and implemented to the highest security standards thus maintaining and enhancing customer trust
  • Evangelize security within 2nd Watch and be an advocate for keeping customer information secure
  • 7+ years of enterprise grade application development and design experience
  • Able to work in a diverse team, internally and externally
  • Strong technical skills around AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, technical degree preferred; Computer Science or Math background highly desired
  • You will have access to several customer production sites and applications. Confidentiality and non-disclosure of client information is a requirement and non-negotiable
  • Familiarity of a disaster recovery process and reporting security breaches is desired
  • Familiarity with and experience working with the following compliance standards: Sarbanes Oxley, HIPAA, PCI
  • Up to 25% travel required
