Role Description

As a SaaS Analyst, you’ll spearhead the development of financial controls and reporting for AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring effective cost management and optimization. With a focus on analyzing actual costs against budgets and KPIs, you’ll recommend and maintain AWS Savings Plans and Reservation Instances while collaborating with Accounting, Cloud Ops, Product, and Engineering to accurately forecast and allocate cloud expenses. Your role extends to facilitating cross-organizational discussions, driving cost optimization initiatives, and leveraging tools like Excel, Power BI, and cloud cost management platforms to deliver actionable insights and foster continuous improvement.


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience with one or more of the following: cost accounting, financial analysis, modeling/forecasting
  • Basic understanding of technical cloud infrastructure concepts
  • Understanding of billing and metering on cloud platforms
  • Ability to learn technical concepts quickly
  • Working knowledge of cloud chargeback reporting, show back, spend control, etc.
  • Experience building reports and dashboards in Excel, Power BI, and other tools as required
  • Proficient knowledge of KPIs and dashboards
  • Working knowledge of financial processes
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to partner cross-organizationally and drive cost optimization discussions
  • Demonstrate independent problem solving and strategic thinking abilities
  • Experience with AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, or Google Cloud Cost Management a plus
  • Experience with billing analysis and cost optimization techniques a plus


  • Develop AWS and Azure financial controls and guardrails
  • Produce reporting on cloud infrastructure costs and operations
  • Analyze and report on AWS and Azure costs and usage actuals to budget/forecast, KPIs, dashboards, spend oversight, detection of key areas of waste and optimization, utilization rates, etc.
  • Analyze, recommend, and maintain AWS Savings Plans and AWS Reservation Instances (RIs)
  • Work with Finance/Accounting to allocate and post cloud costs appropriately in the general ledger
  • Assist in developing presentations to communicate results of analyses in cross-organizational meetings with Cloud Ops, IT, Product, Development, and Finance
  • Help identify and action potential cost optimizations
  • Ad-hoc requests and special projects
