Cloud FinOps Principal

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the Cloud budget while working closely with Cloud Ops team in order to meet financial objectives
  • Performs analysis, create decks and present regular operational reviews to leadership on financial analysis of cloud computing spend for the company
  • Creates metrics, reports, and recommended remediation options and plans for financial excellence in the cloud
  • Analyzes spend trends, opportunities for savings, and advise IT Team with specific recommendations for improvement.
  • Acts as the Cloud FinOps Consultant in the set-up and configuration of AIA Philam’ s Cloud Platform for business requirements
  • Participates in deep architectural discussions to help product/project teams make the most cost-efficient choices in the financial aspects of Discovery, Estimation, Planning, and Execution process on Cloud Financials
  • Provides financial analysis of business unit on-premise spend, translating it to cloud spend in formal business cases where analysis may include projections for cost of tools, maintenance, depreciation/amortization, the impairment of assets, and labor efficiencies.
  • Provides discounted cash flow comparison between on-premise spend and cloud spend to support business cases and when necessary, draft and present qualitative aspects of the migration business case to client stakeholders.
  • Conducts regular trainings on cloud FinOps to IT team while ensuring increase in the financial acumen of the cloud engineering team and support teams
  • Works closely with Local IT Finance and other Finance team for accurate and timely Cloud Ops financial management while ensuring a healthy IT 3rd Party Vendors financial relationship in achieving overall IT Business Unit financial and service delivery objectives
  • Ensures establishment & maintenance of Cloud FinOps knowledge database and continual process improvements and/or innovations using appropriate models & methodologies to effectively and efficiently achieve overall IT Business Unit Objectives.

 

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Strong Financial analysis with the ability to develop and present financial analysis of a client’s spend and make related recommendations.
  • Deep passion for cloud technology and ability to articulate the cloud value proposition in both technical and financial aspects
  • Skilled at building relationships with co-workers
  • Persistent, tenacious and ability to navigate challenging business situations constantly finding opportunities to drive value
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in both technical and non-technical contexts
  • Thrive in a start-up culture with minimal oversight always looking for opportunities to innovate on behalf of our customers
  • Proficient working understanding of Azure cloud computing platform and its pricing dynamics, with knowledge on AWS/Google are significant plus
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in both technical and non-technical contexts
  • Ability to dive deep and earn the trust of stakeholders through demonstrated experience
  • Strong capacity to thrive in a start-up culture with minimal oversight always looking for opportunities to innovate on behalf of business units
  • Proficient user of Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office tools
  • High ability to learn basic relational database query languages such as SQL
  • Existing knowledge and expertise in Azure and AWS a significant plus.
  • Azure Cloud Practitioner certification a significant plus.
