Cloud FinOps Analyst

Apple’s FinOps Engineering team is looking for a passionate and highly motivated leader to be a Cloud FinOps Analyst. You will provide a key function in shaping the success of Apple’s current and future products.

As a team member, you will be responsible for actively overseeing cloud consumption charges, identifying primary cost drivers, and leading optimization activities to ensure that our infrastructure is operating efficiently. You will be using cloud cost optimization platforms as well as partnering with Engineering to gain visibility and better management of third party cloud infrastructure usage and costs.

Key Qualifications

5+ years developing and operating infrastructure in public cloud environments (AWS or GCP)

Ability to define architecture by influencing the multi-functional and software development team, while partnering with business to ensure their strategic vision with software technology is met

Able to research, architect and drive complex technical solutions, consisting of multiple technologies and cloud services.

Experience with cost optimization preferred with tools like Ternary, Cloudability, etc

Proficient in cost management knowledge including trending and variance analysis and forecasting

Experience in building out a FinOps subject area

Experience with Kubernetes optimizations and cloud telemetry tools

Description

– Actively monitor cloud consumption charges and identify primary cost drivers

– Lead optimization activities to ensure the infrastructure is operating efficiently

– Leverage cloud cost optimization platforms to help track and better handle cloud infrastructure usage and costs

– Partner with properties that span across all of Apple

– Use an agile approach to define project plans, roadmaps, and manage product backlog

– Be a great partner with outsourced workers, consultants, third party cloud vendors, internal and external collaborators

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or other relevant field that demonstrates quantitative competence. MBA plus.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,000 and $230,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
