Responsibilities

• Develop and manage cloud infrastructure financial plan  
• Execute and iterate on cloud spend governance process  
• Partner with engineering leaders to define, implement, and drive best practices in FinOps 
• Provide internal stakeholders with data-driven cost optimization opportunities based on business priorities   
• Analyze data and produce quantitative financial models and dashboards to track and forecast spend 
• Lead the cost optimization and investment process using RIs and SPs  
• Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports of cloud consumption metrics with recommendations to drive savings and efficiencies 

• Work closely with Finance team on reporting and spend forecasts  
• Work closely with Procurement to drive negotiations around EDP and other discount programs  
• Create and maintain internal documentation on FinOps and cost optimization processes  
• Work well with ambiguity and know how to engage leaders cross-functionally and communicate to a diverse set of technical and non-technical stakeholders 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

• 3+ years of demonstrated experience and knowledge in public cloud 
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or equivalent and/or combination of specialized work experience  
• AWS Cloud Practitioner certification or equivalent knowledge  
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in both technical and non-technical contexts  

Desired Qualifications: 

• 3+ years experience in a cloud business operations role with an emphasis on forecast accuracy and cost optimization  
• Experience with Cloudability or similar cloud management tools
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification or higher (or equivalent knowledge) 
• Scripting or data science experience via Python, BASH, SQL, R, etc. 
• FinOps Practitioner, Cloud Financial Management or equivalent Certifications 

• Experience interacting with senior executives and business leaders 
• Proven track record of developing frameworks to solve ambiguous problems and leveraging data to derive insights that lead to actionable recommendations
