Cloud Ops Financial Analyst

The Cloud Ops Financial Analyst analyzes the current cloud environments across multiple Pixel United Studios to identify where cloud spend can be optimized and executes on the cost saving opportunities. Reporting to the Sr Director, Global IT Strategy & Procurement, this role provides cloud spend visibility and supports the finance and engineering teams to understand complex cloud billing and optimization opportunities. The Cloud Ops Financial Analyst is the cloud billing SME who solves complex issues, produces financial reporting, and thinks creatively to reduce spend, and bring value in hidden places.

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Build and maintain partnerships with cloud vendors to stay on top of rate and feature changes and communicate these changes across the team.
  • Lead the development of guidelines to optimize cloud spend.
  • Evaluate current and historical cloud infrastructure to identify opportunities for savings and optimization.
  • Assist with developing cloud budgets and work with project teams to forecast cloud spend for future initiatives.
  • Configure customized cost visibility dashboards and prepare monthly burn down and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
  • Support Pixel United’s existing cloud spend management system and proposed SAAS productivity platform.
  • Be an embedded member in the engineering teams to provide quidance and evangelize savings opportunities.
  • Monitor and report cost anomalies to the teams and assist with remediation.
  • Build a culture of cost aware cloud spending and support the Cloud Cost Guild.

 

 

What We’re Looking For

 

  • Experience with cloud provider discounting, commitments & reservations; AWS, Azure, and GCP preferred.
  • Experience analyzing and forecasting cloud spend at scale.
  • Working knowledge of cloud provider services and corresponding SKU’s including serverless and autoscaling technologies; AWS, Azure, and GCP preferred.
  • Knowledge of cloud provider IAM; AWS, Azure, and GCP preferred.
  • Knowledge of cloud provider Labels & Tags and their influence on data visualizations.
  • History of building relationships and partnerships through excellent collaboration and communication.
  • Proficiency with cloud native or third-party cloud cost reporting products and tools; Cloudability and SQL preferred.
