Cloud FinOps Analyst

Job Description

You will be part of the global Cost & Governance team. As a Cloud FinOps Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting in the management and optimization of cloud costs and resources within the organization. This role requires a strong interest in cloud technologies, financial acumen, and analytical skills. You will be part of the global Cost & Governance team. Your key tasks 

  • Monitor cloud usage and expenses. Analyze cost and usage data to identify trends and potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Demonstrable technical knowledge of one or more major cloud platforms with an understanding of cloud concepts such as compute services, elasticity, tagging, billing, pricing models, discount options, and cost reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of core financial concepts in cloud computing such as cost showback, cost allocation, forecasting, and amortization.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining budgets for cloud services.
  • Develop reports, metrics, and models to analyse cloud costs and forecast future spend, based on business needs.
  • Help project teams understand their monthly spend and create reports to help them monitor their costs.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment on cloud cost goals.
  • Stay informed about updates, features, and pricing changes in major cloud platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of cloud computing and cloud service providers (At least one out of Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • 1-3 years of experience in Cloud FinOps or Cloud spend analysis role.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts and budgeting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

It would be a real bonus if you have 

  • Certification from a major cloud vendor or from the FinOps Foundation.
