Staff Cloud FinOps Engineer

The Staff FinOps Engineer at BILL will be responsible for leading the financial operations and optimization of the company’s cloud infrastructure. This staff-level role requires deep expertise in cloud financial management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to drive strategic cost-saving initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, finance, and Infra teams to ensure effective cloud cost management and financial accountability.

We’d love to chat if you have:

• 8+ years of experience in cloud financial management, financial analysis, cloud computing, or a related role
• Deep understanding of AWS cost management tools and cloud infrastructure
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Go
• Extensive knowledge of cloud architecture and services, including containerization (ECS/EKS), compute, storage, networking, databases, etc.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates
• Experience in automating cloud resource provisioning and management
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch, Splunk)
• Knowledge of cloud cost management and optimization tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer)
• FinOps Certified Practitioner or other relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect)

• Creating and presenting financial reports and maintaining dashboards
• Collaborating with engineering, INFRA, and finance teams to manage cloud costs
• Enhancing financial processes through improvements and automation
