Job Title: Managing Enterprise Architect – CoE- FinOps Lead

Main Purpose of the Role:

This is a client facing role supporting our Center Of Excellence (CoE), contributing to pre-sales activities, supporting and influencing portfolio activities, customization and alliances for the Infrastructure Services Global Cloud Practice. The purpose of the role is to drive FinOps thought leadership and to promote and showcase our FinOps portfolio and capabilities to customers.

You will orchestrate Capgemini’s methods, assets and tools from end-to-end in the shaping and design of FinOps solutions to enable major deal wins for Capgemini in North America.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a client facing role in the advisory and pre-sales cycle. This role will work closely with clients, partners, Capgemini internal stakeholders and other business units to ensure that clients get the most from our FinOps portfolio, services, and offerings. The role is responsible for articulating CIS cloud value proposition, educating clients on our offerings, understanding the clients’ business needs and clearly translating those into Statements of Work. Additionally, the candidate will be, at times, expected to work as part of a delivery team, bringing their subject matter expertise to help deliver successful FinOps consulting engagements. He/she must be fully flexible and mobile across the US to support client pursuits.

  • Define and manage the overall planning of delivery of Capgemini FinOps framework
  • Define and ensure the setup for scope & level of depth of the assessment phase orchestrating the collection of client inputs and report the outputs including FinOps maturity assessment, FinOps best practices recommendations, and Optimization’s recommendations overview
  • Provide all FinOps governance, adoption and change management guidelines adapted to the client context
  • Support Cloud architects & SME teams in the optimization activities making sure of the clarity of explanations and saving calculations
  • Define with clients their dashboards strategy and tooling approach
  • Proactive monitoring & KPI Reporting
  • Devise strategies for Clients to manage their Cloud finances – analysing Cloud spend & usage data to identify areas of focus, creating strategies to support the adoption of FinOps within the customer’s organisation
  • Engage with product engineering teams – collaboration to support realistic cost/efficiency optimization efforts
  • Deploy FinOps Optimizations opportunities on behalf of our customers with our Managed services teams.
  • Fully understand the entire CIS cloud portfolio across advisory, FinOps, platform engineering, cloud migrations, and operations areas
  • Support sales activities by acting as a subject matter expert in customer discussions
  • Drive thought leadership in a specific area such as specific hyperscaler (AWS, Azure or GCP)
  • Work with existing engagements and accounts in order to identify additional revenue opportunities
  • Be willing to learn, grow and stretch into new roles and different industries/domains;
  • Have a fully-flexible approach to working hours and working away from home during the week; willing to work nationally, with the potential to work internationally if desired.
  • Collaborate with North American as well as the Global Portfolio teams on improvements to current and new service offerings
  • Contribute to existing engagements by acting as a Subject Matter Expert in the FinOps area

Essential skills, knowledge & experience:

  • Prior experience working on FinOps initiatives, and be passionate about working on FinOps at scale
  • Experience with delivering 5-10 cloud FinOps projects
  • Deep understanding and strong working knowledge of the variety of cost-control strategies available in the major hyperscalers AWS, Azure, GCP
  • A clear understanding of billing and metering for cloud platforms, including the impact of usage patterns on the total cost of ownership (TCO)
  • Experience driven change at the engineering level or advising senior managers on strategies relating to reserved instances and savings plans purchase
  • Desirable – Experience working with 3rd Party Cloud Cost management tools (Cloud Heath, Cloudability, Cloudchecker,etc)
  • 3+ years of AWS / Azure / GCP Architecture experience with the appropriate vendor certification(s)
  • Understanding of hybrid cloud solutions and experience of integrating public cloud into tradition hosting/delivery models
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Comfortable facilitating group discussions and leading client strategy and design activities; able to translate client needs and opportunities into architecture specifications that can be referred to by the analyst, development and migration teams
  • Ability to develop productive client relationships at different management levels and identify and develop opportunities for new business

Desired certifications:

  • Cloud practitioner certified
  • FinOps practitioner certified or significant experience in FinOps deployment project
