Cloud FinOps Analyst

The Role

As a Cloud FinOps Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting in the management and optimization of cloud costs and resources within the organization. In this role, you will provide key support services, helping technology teams find the best intersection of cost, performance, and business value. The role will help internal customers improve their cloud practices such as tagging and policy compliance, executing on knowledge in cloud optimization and FinOps best practices toward efficient cloud consumption. This role requires a strong knowledge of cloud technologies, financial acumen, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex, multi-cloud cost and performance datasets to facilitate cost and rate optimization.
  • Participate in deep architectural discussions to help product/project teams make cost-efficient technology choices.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert around cloud financial management best practices strategies, cost management mechanisms, and cost-effective cloud architecture.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and their teams to support them with FinOps tools, processes, and data.
  • Create accurate forecasting of cloud spend.
  • Identify optimization opportunities and reduce waste, tracking opportunities to resolution.
  • Provide cost/analysis/usage reports to key personnel on a set cadence.
  • Drive a culture of cost accountability.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline
  • 1-3 Years of FinOps or Cloud Operations experience
  • Technical understanding of AWS and Azure service offerings
  • Strong quantitative data analysis skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to support assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and PowerPoint or similar programs
  • Superior planning, organization, and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent relationship building and people skills
