The Azure Architect will advise on architecture and security considerations for Azure, including lift-and-shift, on-premise to cloud-native migrations, and in-place refactoring. They will conduct testing, configure Azure services to meet agency objectives, and collaborate with stakeholders while adhering to confidentiality requirements.
Required Skills:
- 5 years of strong knowledge of cloud fundamentals.
- 5 years of experience with single and multi-cloud strategies and understanding their implications.
- 5 years of experience designing comprehensive cloud solutions that meet business requirements.
- 5 years of strong knowledge and experience with Azure network and storage architectures.
- 5 years of strong knowledge and experience with Azure services such as Azure Key Vault and Entra ID.
- 5 years of experience with Azure Functions, Azure Web Apps/App Services, containers, microservices architecture, and serverless architecture.
- 5 years of demonstrated knowledge of cloud security principles, including zero-trust, network segmentation, just-in-time access, and conditional access.
- 5 years of experience architecting Azure solutions that meet availability objectives, including RPO and RTO.
- 5 years of experience writing professional documentation, including position papers and architecture documentation.
- 5 years of experience managing cloud-based security posture activities, such as vulnerability remediation, perimeter defense architecture, and encryption in transit.
- 5 years of experience in DevOps, including Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
- 5 years of experience with data storage products like SQL Server and Oracle, as well as non-relational databases like Cosmos DB.
- 5 years of experience as an on-premise architect.
- 5 years of strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage both technical and business audiences.
- 2 years of holding a Microsoft Certification in Azure Solutions Architect (must upload certification under reference tab).
Duties:
- Advise the agency on Azure architecture and security best practices, including in-place migrations and application refactoring.
- Recommend strategies for lift-and-shift and on-premise to cloud-native migrations.
- Provide guidance on refactoring applications within the existing Azure environment.
- Conduct testing within Azure to demonstrate minimum viable products (MVPs) for proposed architectures.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of available offerings from COV, MSI, and other connected entities to ensure optimal solutions.
- Configure Azure-based services in alignment with agency-level objectives and technical requirements.
- Comply with confidentiality requirements, including signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
