Cloud Cost Optimization Analyst

As a Cloud Financial Analyst, you will:

  • Conduct detailed analyses of Azure cloud spending, using Azure Cost Management tools to break down costs by service, department, and project.
  • Identify underutilized or inefficiently allocated Azure resources and propose optimization strategies such as right sizing or reserved instances.
  • Develop comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports on cloud spending, highlighting trends, anomalies, and areas of concern.
  • Perform variance analysis between actual cloud spend and budget forecasts, investigating and explaining significant discrepancies.
  • Develop comprehensive policies for cloud procurement, usage, and cost allocation, ensuring efficient and responsible spending.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for various teams to promote understanding of cloud economics and responsible cloud usage.
  • Engage with external vendors and consultants to benchmark cloud spending and explore opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements.
  • Continuously update skills and knowledge regarding Azure services and cloud financial management trends through professional development and certifications.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field courses.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with Microsoft Azure services, with a focus on Azure Cost Management and Azure Advisor.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing principles.
  • Experience with agile and scrum methodologies.

 

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience managing FinOps for various initiatives, particularly migrating workloads from on-premises to Azure, is preferred.
  • Experience leading or mentoring a team of developers and architects is a plus.
  • Experience working with multiple clients across different domains and industries is a plus.
