Azure and AWS Cloud Operations Engineer and FinOps

Job Description:

Cloudera is searching for an experienced Cloud Engineer to shape the future of cloud strategy, governance and cost optimization. Leverage your expertise in the Cloud to drive efficient cloud operations, build and maintain tooling, and enhance our global cloud presence.

As a successful candidate, you will have in-depth, practical knowledge of the current and up-and-coming trends with Azure, AWS and Google Cloud. You are analytical, professional, and possess excellent organizational and communications skills.

This role will report directly to our Public Cloud Operations Manager.

As a Cloud Engineer you will:

• Assist in the definition and implementation of Cloud Governance Policies and best practices
• Managing the implementation of Cloud security policies as defined by Security
• Develop tools to automate the enforcement public cloud usage governance policies
• Engage with engineering teams on a weekly basis on cloud costs, optimisation, technical issues, etc.
• Manage incoming resource and access requests
• Continuously explore opportunities for cost efficiencies or improvements to the operation of our cloud infrastructure.
• Creating and maintaining operational documents

We’re excited about you if you have:

• Experience running cloud operations primarily in an Azure or AWS/GCP environment.
• SRE or DevOps experience
• Understanding of of FinOps or Cloud Financial Management Frameworks
• Ability to work cross functionally and across different geographies
