Cloud Governance Architect

As the Cloud Governance Architect, you will be in the forefront of defining and implementing our Cloud governance practices and the supporting toolchain to achieve our goal of building first-class cloud-based services. The focus will be on time to market and accelerating the business in delivering digital innovation.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Establish and evolve a set of modern architecture principles (Guardrails).
  • Develop a baseline monitoring and tooling concept for cloud to address the need for compliance infrastructure reporting within agile deliveries as part of the Observability
  • Develop a roadmap and implement a Unified Observability that’s cloud first
  • Develop concepts and tools for chargeback and showback (Financial Instrumentation) in a multicloud context.
  • Develop best practices for cost reduction and drive local cost ownership.
  • Implement and mature a cloud forecasting and capacity management solution for the enterprise.
  • Evolve our cloud native tools to accommodate the need of our strategic technology programs.
  • Ensure support for commercial and legal requirements within our cloud estate.
  • Ensure “Secure By Design” practices are widely adopted.
  • Be a cloud evangelist to help others realize the value of modern cloud capabilities.
  • Support new ways of work like Agile Development, DevOps practices and hackathons.
  • Crossvertical support and alignment on solution architecture
  • Document designs as part of sprints, easing up transition into Operations.

Key Functional Competencies

You possess the following:

  • Language: English (Fluent) Desirable: Second European Language (preferred)
  • Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills with people at all levels across the organisation.
  • Deep understanding of Cloud technology, primarily Azure – AWS is a plus.
  • Cloud Azure and AWS Fundamental Certified is a must. Expert Certifications is a plus!
  • Deep understanding of Infrastructure as a Service, DevSecOps toolset and methodologies
  • The ability to translate business requirements into viable technical solutions
  • Analytical & driving results: assist in developing and deploying key governance, processes & procedures
  • Other competencies: Pro-active / enthusiastic / good interpersonal skills
  • Have a desire to work and succeed as part of a team

Experience / Education

You are/have:

  • +10 years of experience
  • Experienced Cloud Architect, coming either from Large Enterprise or small start¬up. Certified in Azure
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT related discipline
  • Working in cross-functional teams on a European or Global level

Technical skills: (Multiple)

  • Public cloud experience (Azure, AWS is a plus)
  • Have hands-on experience and be able to work with Terraform and Ansible
  • Working experience with Observability tooling: such as Grafana, DataDog Splunk, etc.
  • SCRUM/agile development
  • DevOps Practices
  • Powershell, and .Net
  • Experience in Cloud security
  • PaaS service in Azure
  • Multi-cloud service models
  • Automation (infrastructure as code) practices
  • Kubernetes or Service Fabric
  • Code re-use and documentation
