The role
Join us at OLX’s PDT Finance (FinOps) in our mission to bring clarity and value to every dollar spent within our Product, Data, and Tech (PDT) teams. As our new Data Analyst, you’ll be crafting and refining the tools that shape our financial decisions. You’ll work closely with tech teams, diving deep into analytics to understand and meet their unique needs.
Initially, you’ll take charge of an internally developed tool — it’ll be yours to own and enhance. As you grow with us, you’ll get acquainted with our entire FinOps tool suite, becoming a trusted advisor to the PDT teams. You’ll help the finance business partners explain the ‘whys’ and ‘hows’ behind the numbers, shedding light on variances and trends. Over time, you will naturally become a trusted FinOps expert and advisor for the PDT teams. This is your chance to not just join but shape the financial future at OLX.

What responsibilities will you have

    • Tool ownership & continuous improvement: Maintain and enhance our FinOps and internal tech economics tools to effectively financially manage the PDT department.
    • Cloud cost control: Innovate and develop new tools and processes to boost cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency in Cloud.
    • Data-driven decision-making: Utilize top technologies like AWS, Tableau, and Quicksight to provide comprehensive analytics, connecting the dots to build impactful recommendations (e.g. savings opportunities).
    • Leadership & Collaboration: Act as an owner and partner, offering insights and recommendations that will be embraced by mid and senior management, ensuring your analytical work has a real impact on the business.

What are we looking for

    • Experience: Proven experience in analytics fields, preferably in an international environment, and a strong business understanding.
    • Technical proficiency: Must have competence in Python and SQL, and familiarity with Jira, and cloud-based APIs. Expertise in database management and the development of automated, reliable tools and processes.
    • Analytical ability: Proficient at dissecting complex data sets to extract actionable, value-added insights. Experience with data/BI tools like AWS Quicksight, Tableau, or Power BI.
    • Communication & collaboration: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English (B2 level minimum) and the ability to work effectively under low supervision in a collaborative, remote team environment.
    • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, or a similar field.

Nice to have

    • Previous experience in FinOps or TBM rolesExpertise in financial management platforms like Anaplan, SAP/S4Hana, or Cloudability.
    • Good grasp of financial principles, especially those relevant to tech resource allocation and technology budgets
