Senior Manager FinOps

Job Description:

Position focused on efficiently managing the transition from on-prem infrastructure to a Cloud environment. Our Business Technology and Data & Analytics teams are in the process of moving on-prem applications and hardware to the Cloud. As the enterprise transitions, governance, best practices, and cost management disciplines must be established. This role will drive the strategy and operating model for the FinOps function. Optimizing Cloud usage and spend across the firm will be a major focal point. Position will work closely with Business Technology, Data & Analytics, and Sourcing to establish a framework to manage spend across Cloud Providers. Prior experience in FinOps and Infrastructure roles is required. This role will be responsible for building out and managing the cross functional Financial Ops teams. Which will build a Cloud Center of Excellence to manage governance, best practices and operational excellence.Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

What You’ll Do

• Drive the strategy and operating model for the FinOps function. Optimizing Cloud usage and spend across the firm will be major focal point.
• Work closely with Business Technology, Data & Analytics, and Sourcing to establish a framework to manage spend across Cloud Providers. Prior experience in FinOps and Infrastructure roles is required.
• Responsible for building out and managing the cross functional Financial Ops teams. Build a Cloud Center of Excellence to manage governance, best practices and operational excellence.
• Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

How You’ll Do It

• Analyze and understand current cloud consumption patterns and evaluate existing capabilities to target where and what to focus on to build FinOps capabilities.
• Assist in the implementation of a Cloud Financial Governance Model including supporting processes, roles & responsibilities, and cost management KPIs.
• Continually improve and streamline standard work processes by evaluating current tools, processes, and reporting.
• Define and prioritize activities based on expected efficiency and cost savings potential.
• Develop annual and quarterly forecasts for Cloud spend including showback / chargeback mechanisms.
• Develops financial projections to support planning and investment decisions.
• Collaborate with Sourcing and Business Technology to manage Cloud Vendors.
• Foster a culture of cost accountability among product teams and drive a risk management culture with a focus on digital ambition.

Qualifications You’ll NeedThe Basics

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science or related field
• 8+ years of experience in Financial Services, Accounting, LOB, Technology (Cloud or similar experience)
• 2+ years of experience in People Management

Bonus Points If You Have

• Master’s Degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science or related field
• 10+ years of experience in Financial Services, Accounting, LOB, Technology (Cloud or similar experience)

Compensation:The base pay for this position generally ranges between $100,500.00 to $170,100.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
