Cloud FinOps Analyst | Senior SQL

The Cloud FinOps Analyst is responsible for helping govern cloud spend across the enterprise partnering closely with business leaders and their finance and technical teams. This role assists in finding cloud cost optimization opportunities, researching cloud cost anomalies, and maturing cloud cost governance by identifying and implementing best practices throughout the organization. They will also support the monthly close and forecast processes and other financial rhythms in partnership with business unit finance. This person will interact with leadership to deliver cloud related financial information in a concise, meaningful, and actionable manner.

What You’ll Do

• Analyze cloud cost and seek and identify opportunities for cloud cost optimization
• Mature FinOps processes to help evolve organizational maturity around managing cloud cost spend
• Conduct adhoc analysis and reporting to support business unit leadership
• Support month end close, forecasting, and reporting processes relating to cloud

What Experience You Need

• +2 years of experience in a finance-related capacity
• +2 years of experience in Structured Query Language (SQL) experience and skills for adhoc query research and analysis
• +2 years of experience in Excel or Google Sheets including comfort with INDEX/MATCH formulas and IF/AND/OR logic
• +1 years of experience in financial systems such as Oracle Hyperion Planning / Essbase
• +1 year knowledge in US GAAP principles (Accrual based accounting, cost amortization, expense recognition, double-entry accounting)
• English proficiency B2 or above

What Could Set You Apart

• Experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, and Looker
• Experience in scripting languages such as VBA, Javascript, or Python
• Experience with leadership communication – synthesizing, visualizing, and presenting data
• Understanding or experience working with cloud technologies such as Google Cloud and/or AWS
