Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Solution Architecture to lead our data strategy and oversee our systems architecture. This strategic role is responsible for ensuring that our systems and data strategy align with business goals and that best practices, data governance, quality, and accessibility are maintained across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data architecture strategy that supports the company’s business objectives.
  • Define the vision for data management and identify opportunities for leveraging data as an asset.

Architecture Design:

  • Lead the design and implementation of a scalable and robust architecture across the back office enterprise applications, integrating seamlessly with our go-to-market offerings.
  • Create process & data flow illustrations to drive a connected enterprise

Data Governance:

  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and practices for quality, privacy, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to data protection regulations.

Cross Team Collaboration:

  • Partner with various application development teams and business stakeholders to achieve business goals.
  • Mentor team members across the organization to break down silo’s, and drive an end-to-end thought process.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership and business units to understand their goals and key measures, translating those needs into solution designs.

Technology Evaluation:

  • Assess and recommend technologies and practices to meet the organization’s data needs.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data architecture and management.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of data architecture initiatives.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize data architecture performance and capacity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in data architecture, solution architecture, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Strong business acumen, preferably within a software company.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, COTS software packages, middleware design patterns, and data governance frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to drive change and foster a data-driven culture within an organization.
