Cloud and Employee Foundation (CEF) is part of HERE’s larger vision for horizontal development and operations. CEF focuses on mission core and mission critical solutions. We help the company ensure the stability of the technical foundation for development and product through managing platforms that are valuable to the overall function of HERE Technologies. This includes back office to mid office, networks and end points, cloud service providers, and applications that provide digital experiences for our entire workforce.
The HERE Cloud Foundation is comprised of engineers, data scientists, and business analysts. We are tasked with governance, cost optimization, invoicing, reporting, and internal consulting regarding our CSPs and SaaS vendors. As a strategic cloud customer, HERE Technologies uses a tremendous amount of compute, storage, and other -aaS offerings from our service providers.
Our team analyzes resource usage and utilization levels to craft policy, architect and implement automation, advise engineering teams, provide compliance guardrails, and constantly look for opportunities to optimize for efficiency.
Additionally, we manage all aspects related to invoicing and purchase orders related to these vendors to ensure that our costs are validated and that payments are issued in accordance with our contracts. HERE helped pioneer the FinOps methodology and we are looking to expand our team in this area.
