We are seeking an experienced and strategic FinOps Lead to establish, mature, and lead the FinOps practice within EISAI’s GDBT centre. Reporting into the Cloud Centre of Excellence, you will own the end-to-end cloud financial management capability across our $12.5M multi-cloud estate spanning AWS, Azure, and GCP across regions including the US, EMEA, Japan, India, and Manila. You will lead a team of Forecasting and Optimisation Analysts, drive alignment between engineering, finance, and business stakeholders, and be accountable for delivering measurable cloud cost efficiency and financial governance at scale.
This is a senior individual contributor and team lead role requiring both strong technical depth in cloud cost management and the leadership capability to influence across a global, matrixed organisation.
• Lead and develop the FinOps function, managing forecasting and optimisation analysts, setting priorities, and building sustainable capability.
• Own the FinOps operating model including tagging standards, cost allocation, showback/chargeback, and governance across EISAI GDBT.
• Embed financial accountability into engineering, partnering with the Cloud Centre of Excellence and delivery teams to operationalise FinOps best practices.
• Lead cloud budgeting and forecasting cycles, delivering consolidated forecasts, variance analysis, and insights across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Define and execute the cloud savings roadmap, overseeing the optimisation backlog and reporting realised savings to technology and finance leadership.
• Own commitment and commercial strategy, including RIs, Savings Plans, CUDs, and cloud provider negotiations and renewals.
• Establish executive-level reporting on cloud spend, efficiency KPIs, and savings, translating data into clear business narratives.
• Champion a cost-conscious engineering culture, embedding FinOps principles into SDLC, architecture reviews, and enablement programs
• 6+ years of experience in cloud financial management, FinOps, or cloud architecture with a strong cost governance focus, including at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
• Demonstrated experience managing and maturing a FinOps practice within a large, complex, multi-cloud enterprise environment.
• Deep expertise across cloud billing, pricing models, and cost optimisation instruments across at least two major providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proven ability to build and influence relationships with engineering, finance, and senior business stakeholders, driving accountability without direct authority.
• Experience leading or mentoring small technical or analytical teams, with the ability to set direction, develop talent, and drive delivery.
• FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) certification required; FinOps Certified Professional or cloud provider cost management certifications (AWS, Azure) are highly desirable.
• Experience working in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated industries with compliance-driven infrastructure requirements is highly advantageous.
