Position Summary
Effectual is seeking an experienced FinOps Manager to support a civilian government customer. In this role, you will lead a FinOps team responsible for financial governance across a large multi-cloud environment, providing cloud spend visibility, cost recovery, and data-driven recommendations to improve cloud financial management. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of experience, 7+ years in cloud computing, and holds a FinOps Certified Professional or Practitioner credential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop a FinOps Framework: Create a set of processes and best practices for cloud cost management, budgeting, and forecasting
- Define financial governance policies to ensure compliance and accountability
- Establish and lead a FinOps Office that meets regularly, communicates with stakeholders and tracks progress of FinOps initiatives
- Develop training materials and processes for driving adoption of FinOps practices within the organization
- Conduct training sessions for finance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure
Alignment
- Responsible for overall cloud cost transparency and cost optimization
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management or associated field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience, with 3 years in client-facing roles delivering technical solutions
- 7+ years of cloud computing knowledge, including managing the procurement of cloud services and understanding cloud technologies and their financial implications
- Experience providing cloud spend visibility and Cost Recovery
- Experience interpreting data, identifying trends and making recommendations to improve cloud
- Demonstrated ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make recommendations to improve cloud financial management
- Experience managing a FinOps Team responsible for financial governance of a large multi-cloud environment
- FinOps Certified Professional or FinOps Certified Practitioner (Required)
