Our solutions address needs ranging from Core Account Processing to Document management, Fraud and Risk, and everything in between. Our clients represent 40% of the banks in the US in either a licensed or SAAS model.

What you will do:

We are seeking an Advisory Engineer of FinOps Cloud Optimization, whose responsibility will be to ensure we get the most value out of every dollar we spend in the cloud. As a Cloud FinOps Engineer, you will be an integral member of the dynamic APS cloud computing team continuously innovating and improving our path on cloud financial controls and optimization, while helping to drive a culture of accountability regarding efficient cloud usage/spend.

This is an exciting opportunity to boost the Account Processing and Fintech Solutions business in our mission to meet our clients in modern environments while offering innovative ways to achieve resiliency, availability, and scalability.  The ideal candidate should be prepared to communicate the benefits of cloud native, 12-factor, test-driven development and possesses a strong development background.

What you will need to have:

  • 7-10 years of experience with distributed systems planning, operations, or design in a large computing facility is required
  • 5+ years’ experience with public cloud infrastructure including GCP, AWS or Azure
  • Excellent scripting knowledge and ability to execute through Python, Bash/Shell, PowerShell, Go
  • Solid understanding of cloud models (IAAS, SAAS, PAAS, FAAS)
  • Firm grasp of common deployment strategies including blue/green, zero-downtime deployment, traffic shaping, canary and rollback
  • Solid understanding of best practices in support of Cloud Based CI and CD
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment
  • Experience working within an Agile Delivery Framework
  • Passionate about cloud computing technologies
  • Deep understanding of cloud based services usage and pricing; Azure and AWS
  • Unique ability to bridge finance and technology
  • Experience in information technology, as a business/data analyst
  • Analyze spend trends, opportunities for savings, and offer advisory services with specific improvement recommendations
  • Work with distributed teams and influence strategy, tactics, and execution of cloud usage.
  • Strong understanding of cloud requirements, ability to partner cross-organizationally and drive cost optimization discussions.
  • A passion for learning new technologies, practices, and ways of working.
  • Hands on cloud experience (AWS, Azure etc)
  • Hands on experience developing API’s, UI’s, and automation.
  • Understanding of container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Previous experience working in a mature agile environment
  • Strong collaborative mindset
  • Synthesis of analysis and research into strategic insights and practical recommendations
  • Ability to manage deliverables independently and with a high degree of efficiency
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, conceptual thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Good facilitation and influencing skills
  • Self-motivated, independent and strategic thinker

What would be great to have:

  • Experience building BI dashboards (PowerBI. Tableau, etc…)
  • Previous cloud certifications – Microsoft Azure Certification or Amazon Web Services (AWS) desired
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner from FinOps Foundation
  • FinOps Certified Associate from FinOps Foundation
  • FinOps Certified Professional from FinOps Foundation
  • Conceptually understanding GAAP reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or another technology or finance related field; MBA preferred ; Equivalent work experience in some cases
  • Strong mathematical competency in basic statistical techniques
