FinOps Manager – IT

Job Description

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to hire FinOps Manager – IT who is based out of in Bangalore  Location.

 

Reporting to Director & the role involves,

 

Responsible for the Enterprise IT Services organizations cost management, reporting directly to the Director of Enterprise IT Governance.

This will include cost management for the EIS organizations projects, regular run rates and expenses, including managing the FinOps function.

To be accountable for all cost related aspects for the EIS organization and to provide stakeholders with cost related insights, metrics, and KPIs

 

What a typical day looks like:

  • Build effective governance on IT Spend
  • Provide visibility of entire organization spend
  • Provide forecasts and estimates to support budgeting
  • Identify key opportunities for cost savings initiatives
  • Championing FinOps best practices, driving awareness and adoption
  • Implementing systems and automating processes
  • Collaborating with other non-technical stakeholders of the business, including Finance
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, scorecards and standard metrics

 

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Any graduate with 10-15Yrs of experience in IT.
  • At least 6 years experience in IT project management that covers public cloud infrastructure (AWS/ Azure/ GCP), with at least 5 years of experience in cloud financial management and FinOps
  • Technology, specifically Infrastructure technical understanding (required)
  • 5 years experience in cost management
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong understanding and passion to evangelize and drive FinOps best practices
  • Proven ability as a process advocate and SME, with experience working with matrix teams across the organization
  • Ability to work independently, effectively manage competing demands and priorities
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a cross-functional team
  • Ability to build positive relationships across multiple stakeholders, senior leadership team, and department heads, etc.
  • Financial analysis
  • Highly polished presentation and communication skills required to present to leadership team
  • Very good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent analytic, problem-solving, oral and written communication skills

 

Operational Responsibilities

Fin Ops Portfolio

  • Identifying key cost drivers and managing cloud consumption and cost optimisation at the enterprise level
  • Managing cloud contracts to maximize business value, which includes contract negotiation.
  • Publish policies for Cloud Financials related to budgeting, authorization, provisioning, forecasting, utilisation and billing .
  • To ensure all the spend is optimized and adopt technologies to bring in cost efficiency
  • Manage cost allocation strategy
  • Championing FinOps best practices, driving awareness and adoption
  • Implementing systems and automating processes
  • Collaborating with other non-technical stakeholders of the business, including Finance
  • On time delivery all financial reports related to Cloud
  • Ensure tracking of provisioning of all cloud resources, projected cost and track spending
  • Adhere to the defined cloud financial models and architecture
  • Implement necessary security controls related to billing Cloud Security, and Identity and Access Management
  • To ensure all the spend is optimized and adopt technologies to bring in cost efficiency

 

Cost Management Maintenance Portfolio

  • Understand and communicate billing, forecasting, and budgeting best practices
  • Cost Forecasting – develop and maintain current and future spend
  • Governance of all support contract maintenance expenses
  • Control of Infrastructure run cost
  • Projects – support and update project costs to align to projected spend
  • Procurement management covering contract management and order processing
  • Improving financial management through simplified reporting and clear governance
  • Build and improve all cost and forecast dashboards
