Cloud FinOps Engineer

The client is an established and well-regarded business with its HQ in Atlanta, Georgia. They are expanding their Cloud Team and seek a skilled Cloud FinOps Engineer. If you are enthusiastic about optimizing cloud spending and ensuring the efficiency, scalability, and security of our financial applications, this role is for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Implement strategies to optimize cloud costs while upholding performance and security.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities by analyzing cloud usage and usage patterns.
  • Work with diverse teams to develop and execute cost-effective, scalable, and secure cloud architecture and infrastructure.
  • Maintain high availability, performance, and cost-efficiency of the cloud infrastructure and applications through monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Automate deployment and maintenance tasks using custom scripts.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reports for cloud costs and usage.
  • Suggest enhancements and new features based on knowledge of the latest cloud technologies and trends.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or possess equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience in cloud financial operations, with a focus on cost optimization and management.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, including billing and pricing models.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and processes, including CI/CD, deployment, and automated testing.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools, displaying strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to identify cost drivers and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
