Cloud FinOps Lead

We are seeking a Cloud FinOps Lead specializing in SaaS, AWS, and Azure. You will be a key player in managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure expenditure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cost-effective usage of cloud resources, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and accountability within our cloud environment.

• Manage a small team with overall responsibility for the Cloud FinOps practice.
• Implement strategies to reduce costs while maintaining high performance and scalability.
• Develop and enforce policies and best practices related to SaaS-based cloud cost management.
• Monitor and analyze cost trends, providing recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
• Generate regular reports and insights for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and finance teams to align cloud infrastructure with business goals.
• Provide training and guidance on cost optimisation best practices to internal teams.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and security protocols in all cost optimization efforts.

Knowledge & Experience

• Practical experience in a dedicated FinOps role.
• Proven experience of managing cloud costs (preferably AWS).
• Proven experience of delivering FinOps projects and initiatives.
• Proven ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly.
• Experience with cloud cost management tools.

Desirable:

• Cloud Provider or FinOps Foundation Certification.
• Understanding of Software Development Lifecycles.
• Experience working alongside development functions delivering software within an agile development environment.
• Experience with compliance standards-based infrastructure such as ISO27001, Cyber Essentials & FedRAMP, and general regulatory compliance management.
