IT Asset Management (ITAM) Lead — GCC

Position Summary: The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Lead — GCC (India) is responsible for the day-to-day operational execution of IT Asset Management for the India GCC, including lifecycle processing, data quality, compliance controls, and reporting. This role partners closely with US teams to ensure ITAM processes are consistently followed and that asset records in ServiceNow are complete, accurate, and audit-ready.

Role Overview: The ITAM Lead executes and supports IT asset lifecycle processes in a shared ServiceNow instance, ensuring required controls, documentation, and reporting are completed on time and to standard. The role focuses on operational consistency, adherence to US ITAM requirements, and effective coordination with regional and global stakeholders.

Reporting Structure: The ITAM Lead reports directly to the GCC IT Director (India), with a dotted line to the Global IT Asset Management Function. This structure enables global alignment, transparency, and governance, with close collaboration with regional and global stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run and maintain ITAM operational governance for the India GCC by executing required policies, procedures, and lifecycle controls in ServiceNow, aligned with US ITAM standards and global mandates.
  • Manage end-to-end IT asset lifecycle execution (plan, procure, deploy, inventory, optimize, and retire) in ServiceNow, maintaining data integrity, audit readiness, and compliance with required standards.
  • Ensure regulatory, security, and contractual obligations are met, including applying software license use rights and restrictions defined by contractual terms and conditions to maintain a proactive compliance posture; identify and mitigate ITAM/SAM risks aligned to local requirements and US/global expectations.
  • Perform Software Asset Management (SAM) operational activities including entitlement capture, license position and compliance analysis, support for renewals/true-ups and audits, and remediation tracking within ServiceNow and related tooling.
  • Produce operational ITAM reporting (KPIs, dashboards, and recurring metrics) using ServiceNow data to track execution performance, identify data/process issues, and support cost optimization opportunities.
  • Act as the operational ITAM point of contact, partnering with global and India stakeholders (Procurement, Finance, IT Operations, Security, Business Units) and enabling users through training and guidance on ServiceNow ITAM processes and best practices.
  • Partner with the SR ServiceNow Developer for ITAM in Hyderabad to support ongoing SAM/HAM care-and-feeding, improving data quality, completeness, and accuracy in ServiceNow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional ITAM certifications (ITIL, IAITAM) preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience in operational IT asset management within a GCC or enterprise environment including lifecycle processing, data maintenance, and audit support.
  • Deep software licensing and SAM expertise, including interpreting contractual terms and conditions, applying license use rights/restrictions and metrics, and translating entitlements into accurate, compliant records and positions.
  • Outstanding analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a history of operating in matrixed and cross-cultural organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and improve ITAM processes, coordinate across teams, and drive adoption of standard workflows while maintaining a strong customer-service mindset.
  • Experience producing operational ITAM KPIs and reports (e.g., data quality, lifecycle timeliness, compliance/audit metrics) and communicating results to stakeholders.

Job Ready Requirements: The ITAM Lead is expected to step into the role with clear operational ownership from day one—executing lifecycle activities, maintaining high-quality asset data in ServiceNow, meeting reporting and compliance requirements, and resolving day-to-day process issues in partnership with global ITAM and local GCC teams.
