Job Description

As part of the Corporate Technology Finance & Business Management (F&BM) team, this position serves as the central point of contact for providing proactive strategic direction of the infrastructure demand plan and related financials.  The candidate should have experience in Financial & Business Planning within a technology, infrastructure and/or hardware driven environment, with a proven track record of superior problem-solving, budget forecasting and partnership skills. The successful candidate must effectively partner and communicate with the Corporate Technology Leadership team, Finance & Business Manager leads, Application Owners, Application Development Leads, Project Management Offices, Procurement, Sourcing, and other key stakeholders and support teams.  The Corporate Technology organization is part of the JPMorganChase Global Technology organization, and supports the finance, risk, data, controls, employee experience and corporate-wide technology groups.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual, able to manage varying levels of complexity and navigate through peak demand.  Critical to the role’s success is the ability to be flexible in shifting workload priorities and be comfortable in a fast-paced priority-driven environment.  The candidate must establish strong relationships with all stakeholders to strategically plan and execute on related agendas, projects, action items and deliverables.

Partnering with the technology leads and the various corporate technology teams, and as a leader in Corporate Technology F&BM, you’ll take a macro view of technology and innovation across the technology teams and the firm.  You’ll perform ongoing evaluation of the application infrastructure for upgrade, modernization and other optimization opportunities that have an everyday impact on customers, clients and businesses around the globe.  You’ll analyze scalability and metrics to assess infrastructure demand trends and help set the strategic direction for the future.  You’ll work with a high-performing team of F&BM, business, financial, application development and planning professionals from multiple job families who share your passion for technology and innovation.  When you’re at JPMorgan Chase, you have access to the best minds in the business—both as part of the JPMorgan Chase global technology community and through our partnerships with some of the most important tech firms in the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Corporate Technology F&BM. business and technology teams on future budget considerations, and owns the financial, hardware approval and demand planning stages of the infrastructure lifecycle, with a heavy emphasis on Cloud.
  • Provides proactive strategic direction of the infrastructure demand plan through analysis, constant evaluation and verification, and serves as the central point of contact and oversight for tracking, monitoring and controlling infrastructure demand financials.
  • Leverages scalability and business metrics, modernization and innovation plans, upcoming tool advances and major infrastructure projects to anticipate, forecast and help set the direction for future demand plans.
  • Plays a key role in the yearly Corporate Technology infrastructure budget projections and is the central point of F&BM contact for FinOps support.

Key Skills & Requirements

  • BS/BA degree or higher, plus a minimum 5 years’ experience in an infrastructure   environment, including expertise in one of more of the following: Infrastructure Management, Budget/Financial Management, Strategic Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting, Project Management, Hardware/Asset Management, FinOps Management and/or Technological Change Management.
  • A working knowledge of firmwide and/or financial industry infrastructure and/or application strategic direction would be helpful, including internal and external Cloud migration planning.
  • Candidate must be a proactive self-starter with the ability to think creatively with an analytical/insightful mindset, strong critical thinking and astute attention to detail.
  • Excellent design, presentation, and storyboard skillset with excellent written and verbal skills to design, develop, consolidate, and present senior management materials such as: business cases, business reviews, budget reviews, strategic roadmaps, strategy reviews, action plans, etc.  Must be able to “tell the story behind the numbers”.
  • Ability to build an innovative culture with an acute client focus.
  • Expertise in working in partnership with colleagues throughout the firm, leading collaborative teams to achieve common goals, and experience in a matrix management framework – i.e., manage by influence without direct authority.
  • The ability to successfully engage and influence a broad range of individuals across various businesses and key support functions, at the senior and peer levels. Experience communicating to senior audiences with ability to partner across teams.
  • Results oriented – takes responsibility for issues and follows through to resolution. Independently solves problems and leverages network to identify solutions for implementation. Thrives on challenges in an unstructured working environment, is resilient, hardworking, has a consistent track record for delivery of high quality, polished work, and challenges the status quo to drive change.
  • Ability to learn new concepts, systems, processes and initiatives and enjoys keeping up with the latest Financial Services technology developments.
  • Advance knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word and MS Project/Project Management tools.
