FinOps Cloud Analytics | Senior Associate

About the job

As the FinOps Cloud Analytics Senior Associate, you will be between Finance & Business Managers, Architecture & Engineering and Production & Infrastructure teams specifically focused on Cloud cost avoidance/optimization and reducing technical debt. You will be responsible for interfacing with the Line of Business delivery teams in order to support key reporting needs for senior management. You will leverage best practices to design and implement services that provide financial control of our customers cloud spend and provide recommendations while tracking cost saves.

Job Responsibilities

  • Become a trusted advisor for Employee Experience & Corporate Technology and Finance Risk Data and Controls -Tech on Cloud Optimization best practices
  • Support technologists to maximize cloud variable spend by applying Rightsizing, Down Scheduling and Serverless options
  • Leading Management calls to keep stakeholders informed, providing insights and suggested course of actions
  • Evangelizing the well architecture framework
  • Work closely with financial and billing teams on budgets, forecasts
  • Help execute Total Cost of Ownership analysis and bridge areas of opportunities such us billing, app decommissions, and workstation decommissions
  • Helps establish an evergreen process for technical debt specifically for app decom and end user tech cost
  • Quality assurance efforts, ensuring that programs adhere to approved set of processes, policies, and standards
  • Provide public cloud monthly financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and executive reviews
  • Monitor, analyze, report application workload migration to public cloud and comparison of pre/post KPIs
  • Support stakeholders in understanding cloud spend to budget based on business roadmap and execution
  • Perform operation research and quantitative study on application portfolio spend pattern to derive insightful knowledge that can inform strategic and operational decisions

Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills

  • 1-2 year of AWS experience (Practitioner) and enthusiastic to learn about Cloud Finance
  • Able to think strategically, execute surgically, prioritizing multiple tasks or agenda under pressure
  • Ability to analyze cloud data / bills and help FinOps team identify anomaly
  • Able to analyze and produce meaningful insights from large, complex datasets
  • Strong organizational skills, good judgment, fact based and decision making ability
  • Able to influence others across multiple functional areas to lead change
  • Collaborative and participative style
  • Able to contextualize abstract or complicated or new concept across all levels of stakeholders
  • Able to develop and motivate team members in a federated or contribution delivery model

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills

  • Experience in FinOps Principles, Capabilities and the Well Architected \”Cloud\” Framework
  • Finance experience in public cloud cost management and optimization on AWS or GCP or Azure
  • Working knowledge in hybrid cloud or multi cloud infrastructure financial management or migration execution
  • Support stakeholders in understanding cloud spend to budget based on business roadmap and execution
