Staff Cloud FinOps Engineer

What you will do

Design, implement, and manage financial systems and processes for Cloud Cost Management within the organization.
Collaborate with Cloud Operations, Cloud Engineering, and Finance teams to optimize cloud spending, reduce waste, and help drive continuous cost savings in customer-facing infrastructure.
Define and establish a cloud cost allocation, ownership and governance model
Collaborate with our Product Development organization to optimize cloud spending and help answer business questions regarding spend.
Monitor and report on cloud usage and cost trends, identify cost optimization opportunities, and recommend and present solutions to management.
Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and metrics to track cloud usage and costs.
Provide financial analysis and modeling support for cloud infrastructure investments and initiatives.
Ensure optimal spend rates that balance the need responsibly burn down commits, while staying within budget.
Help define tagging standards and cost allocation strategies.
Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes for cloud costs.
Provide training and support to team members on cloud cost management processes and tools.

What we are looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
7+ years of relevant experience in financial operations, accounting, or related field with a focus on cloud cost management
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and cloud cost management principles and best practices
Proficient in cloud cost management tools (e.g., Cloudability, CloudHealth, AWS Cost Explorer, GCP Cost Management, Azure Cost Management, Looker CCM etc.)
Experience with data analysis and financial modeling
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Proven track record of process improvement initiatives focused on cloud cost management
