What’s the job?

They will become a trusted liaison between key areas of the organisation including engineering, delivery, and finance; helping finance quantify the cost impacts of engineering operational decisions and helping engineering implement cost management best practices.

The role, and their squad, a “FinOps Product Team” (made up of cross cutting skills with permanent and temporary resources), will establish this capability and then be a key enabler for the delivery, support, and improvement of all the Cloud costs. This will then help enable Kingfisher to deliver its business strategy in an efficient and value focused way.

Cost Forecasting

  • Develop, maintain, and evolve cost and forecasting models to provide required insights to current and future cloud spend.
  • Work with our engineering and product teams to accurately attribute costs to teams, help them develop forecasts and determine cost drivers of their expenses.
  • Partner with Finance to maintain connection between company financial plans and Cloud Cost Reporting to make sure we are consuming the right capabilities as cost-effectively as possible.

Operations & Optimization

  • Will be building and leading so capabilities to develop and support individuals within the team, to help them towards achieving their aspirations.
  • Partner with our Engineering team to ensure appropriate tagging and alerts strategies are deployed to manage costs and determine deviations from plan.
  • Have great collaborative skills – be able to bring people together, across all IT, Business and External areas, to enable us to deliver the goals of our business.
  • Has team leader experience and can develop and support individuals within the team, to help them towards achieving their aspirations.
  • Use strong problem-solving skills and clear thought process to help the teams when decisions are needed.
  • Some budget experience in a multiple team area covering all aspects of Capex and Revex, purchasing and renewals.
  • Good knowledge of Public Clouds and Capabilities (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc) and DevSecOps principles including CI/CD, Automation
