The Role

The individual selected to fill this solution engineering opportunity will become a part of a vibrant and fast-paced organization that is highly regarded in the eyes of prospective buyers and established customers alike. This position plays a critical role in the continued growth of our organization. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with client teams at both an individual contributor and executive level to support overall sales and customer success motions (implementation, delivery and account management).

As a Solution Engineer, you will collaborate directly with some of our top account executives as you complement their account and engagement strategies with your distinct technical perspectives and abilities. Together, as part of our Customer Success team, you will communicate and bring to life, the overall value proposition of our products and services to prospective buyers to support key outcomes that are critical to their organization.

From a technical perspective, you will have the opportunity to develop a deep knowledge of our products and work across our organization with the latest developments and offerings across our product and service portfolio. The solution engineer operates as the technical face to our customers (prospective and existing). This includes liaising with our product management, other customer success team members, and product marketing teams among others. Ideal candidates will also provide a continuous perspective of how our offerings provide value with customers along with conveying insights relative to emerging feature and improvement demands for our offerings.

The person selected will work across all client areas assisting in the implementation, and creation of ongoing value from the MagicOrange Platform at customers.


Large components of the work will involve understanding and improving client processes. As such the ability to understand client processes and information sources and the ability to leverage these to enable valuable insights thereby driving informed decision making by senior management.


Every day, you will be helping clients get the most out of MagicOrange, a Gartner recognized established software offering by helping them to drive profitability and unlock value through cost transparency!


As a Solution Engineer, you are the face of our organization and will be measured on your ability to onboard new clients within defined timelines by gathering accurate data, modelling this within MagicOrange, and showcasing the insights and opportunities therein.  You will apply a mix of project management, consulting & advisory, relationship building, training, data manipulation and analysis skills as well as data visualization to drive value and transformation at our customers.

Educational Background

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • Professional Qualification of either Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).


Previous Experience

  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Excel at an advanced level (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, Indexes, Power Query)
  • Accounting knowledge and experience with General Ledgers/ERP’s, journal entries, accounting, reconciliations.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Activity Based Costing, Cost Transparency, Cost Modelling, IT Cost Optimization, IT Financial Management (ITFM) or Technology Business Management (TBM) is desirable but not essential
  • Management and project experience in a Financial Services environment is desirable
  • Basic understanding of IT infrastructure stack
  • Advisory and consulting experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Experience working at one of the big 4 consulting firms, Deloitte, KMPG, PwC or EY
