Cloud FinOps

We have an exciting role within the FinOps (Cloud Financial Management) team in our Infrastructure Operations department. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining public cloud spend management programs, driving cost optimization, and improving the chargeback/showback process across all NewsCorp business units globally. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys multitasking, working independently, and making a meaningful impact on cloud operations and financial management.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Use your strong SQL and Python skills with a data engineering mindset to develop and maintain cloud cost optimization tools and processes.
• Manage and optimize multi-cloud large data stores, transformation, and reporting services, including AWS S3, Athena, Quicksight, GCP BigQuery, and Looker.
• Be passionate about accuracy, have a strong attention to detail, and maintain a curious approach to solving challenges.

Knowledge and Skills:

Must to have skills:

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python
• Familiarity with AWS & GCP Analytics Services including AWS S3, Athena, Quicksight, GCP BigQuery, and Looker.

Good to have skills:

• Experience with multi-cloud cost management and optimization
• Knowledge of financial modeling and cloud cost forecasting
• Understanding of FinOps principles and practices

Additional Skills:

• Strong communication, interpersonal and Collaboration skills
• Effectively communicate their ideas and designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to mentor junior team members

Preferred Certifications:

AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty certification is a plus.
