The Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Technology division is responsible for enabling and evolving Capital One’s foundational cloud infrastructure layer, including observability, connectivity, resilience and availability.

As a Principal Associate Process Managersupporting Capital One Software, you will help manage and support the command center stability improvement processes. Responsibilities will include leading meetings for technical teams to create clear communication around technical incidents.  Working with these teams on the resulting actions identified, and documenting, monitoring and controlling critical process points as defined by business policies and standards.  You will educate and gain buy-in from key stakeholders concerning the utilization of process to ensure appropriate execution each and every time. You may also lead or engage in critical departmental or cross-functional organizational initiatives and projects.

This individual must be able to effectively communicate and influence partners across multiple functional areas including multiple levels of the organization. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic agile environment are essential to succeeding in this role. This individual must display strong leadership skills and be able to drive and motivate others in delivering flawless execution of process improvement projects. Knowledge of how to develop and manage process controls, will be critical to maintaining a well-managed process. A qualified candidate will have: 

  • Demonstrated that they can improve processes and deliver well managed and scalable solutions and intent resulting in flawless and sustainable execution
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence partners across the company and across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to change quickly.
  • A solid grasp of process management concepts and Agile experience, working with Risk / Compliance Officers and Auditors.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, including experience working with data and automation tools.
  • The ability to comfortably engage in Technology and Product conversations.

General Responsibilities:

  • Meet with technical personnel after a technical incident to identify causes and put measures in place to reduce the risk of reoccurrence.
  • Create a written report of the incident, causes, and actions identified.
  • Follow through with the technical teams until the actions are complete.
  • Develop and maintain formal process documentation, including procedures and process flow diagrams
  • Work with team members to develop robust risk management processes
  • Effectively partner with Product, Technology and Intent Owners to achieve desired outcomes or improvements by clarifying needs and providing appropriate solutions
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Track and resolve process breakdowns, issues and risk events
  • Driving process improvements aligned with desired customer outcomes

Basic Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 3 years of Process or Risk Management experience
  • At least 1 year of Continual Improvement experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years of Process Management experience
  • 1+ years of Project Management experience
  • 1+ years of experience working with Product and Technology teams
  • Process Management training and certifications (Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Experience with or Certifications in Cloud technologies.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Plano, TX: $93,400 – $106,600 for Principal Process Manager

McLean, VA: $102,700 – $117,200 for Principal Process Manager

Richmond, VA: $93,400 – $106,600 for Principal Process Manager
