On behalf of our client in Winnipeg, Procom is searching for multiple resources including a FinOps Engineer for potential multi-year contracts.
FinOps Engineer Job Description:
- The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing the financial performance of our client’s cloud infrastructure and applications, working closely with the Cloud and DevOps teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource utilization.
- This onsite role requires a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and services, financial management, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
FinOps Engineer Job Responsibilities:
- Optimize the financial performance of our cloud infrastructure and applications
- Collaborate with Cloud and DevOps teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource utilization
- Develop financial reporting and governance mechanisms to track cloud spending and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints
- Implement best practices for cost optimization and provide guidance to Cloud and DevOps teams
- Continuously monitor and analyze cloud spending trends and identify areas for improvement
- Educate stakeholders on the financial implications of their cloud usage and provide recommendations for cost-effective alternatives
FinOps Engineer Must-Have Skills:
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in financial management, cloud cost optimization, or a related field
FinOps Engineer Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Strong knowledge of financial management and analysis
- Experience with cloud cost optimization tools and techniques
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services such as virtual machines, containers, serverless computing, load balancing, auto-scaling, databases, and data storage services
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM Templates
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to creating an accessible and inclusive work environment
FinOps Engineer Assignment Length:
12 months with multi-year extensions
