Skills And Experience

 

  • Experience of working for an IT Service Provider/Managed Services Provider ideally delivering cloud based services or infrastructure services
  • Capable of establishing a Capacity and Performance Management offering
  • Good understanding or experience in supporting multiple platforms & operating systems (Linux/Windows Server)
  • Experience delivering in an ITIL environment
  • Experience of DevOps & cloud practices across major public cloud providers
  • Project Management & Agile delivery methods
  • Visualisation tooling and analytics

About The Role

A Cloud Capacity Manager is required to join the new Cloud Managed Services function within PwC Operate with responsibility for breaking down client infrastructure usage into meaningful information & insights.

The Cloud Capacity Manager is responsible for creating the environment demand and capacity management process and discipline, instilling this across the team.

The Capacity Manager will also establish and build relationships with internal stakeholders and use the insights they have to inform potential opportunities & optimisations with clients.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support & improve the enablement of the cloud managed services function
  • Lead on tooling & automation for reporting, trend analysis, idle usage & wastage of client infrastructure usage.
  • Support the service reviews with infrastructure optimisation & improvement recommendations
  • Collaborate with the Cloud Managed Services FinOps team for consumption optimisation & consumption improvements
  • Generate capacity and performance reporting & forecasting, be responsible for ensuring that services and infrastructure are able to deliver the agreed service level targets for capacity and performance in a cost effective and timely manner
  • Support the incident & problem teams where outages are capacity related.
  • Be involved in the change, release & request management process of the customer’s environment to ensure success and service up-time.
  • Lead on estate visualisations for ease of consumption of data
  • Ensure that IT infrastructure capacity is optimised and matched to the evolving agreed needs of each client.
  • Provide advice and guidance on capacity and performance related issues
  • Lead on power policy management, idle usage, infrastructure utilisation waste and right sizing
  • Ability and willingness to travel for Client or internal related meetings
