Cloud Cost Optimisation and Control – Senior Manager

Who we’re looking for 

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Senior Manager to help shape and drive one of our key initiatives, developing and scaling our Cloud Transformation business as part of our Technology Everywhere digital strategy.

About the role 

This Senior Manager role will sit in our Cloud Commercial Control team, and be responsible for helping organisations reduce commercial risk and secure better value from their cloud investments.


Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Working closely with the Commercial Control leadership team to develop and execute the cloud service catalogue and growth ambition with particular focus on:
    • Cloud adoption business case development
    • EDP Contracting and negotiation support with key hyperscalers – AWS, GCP, Azure
    • Cost optimisation opportunities to deliver savings and cost avoidance opportunities for clients
    • Development and / or review the effectiveness of commercial governance (Cloud FinOps) solutions at our clients.
  • Supporting the development of internal and external marketing  and communications strategy
  • Training and upskilling junior team members in Cloud Governance and commercial control
  • Supporting / leading broader IT Commercial Control (non-Cloud) propositions, in areas such as IT Outsourcing and Operating Model transformation and IT Procurement optimisation.



  • Experience in procurement, contracting and supplier governance over technology service providers
  • Understanding of the contractual and charging models of the primary public cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Understanding of FinOps and cloud commercial governance
  • Experience in development of business and investment cases for technology transformation programmes
  • Experience of operating at, presenting or persuading c-level executives.

Being successful in this role 

The successful candidate will be able to integrate across commercial, procurement and technology teams to help identify and propose pragmatic steps to reduce commercial risk in public cloud infrastructure. Although not a technical role, the successful candidate will be familiar with key concepts relating to cloud technology, Cloud Cost Optimization and Cloud FinOps.
