how you will contribute
As a FinOps engineer you will join our software assets & optimization team at Randstad Global IT. You identify and implement innovative and standardized solutions to optimize Randstad’s overall cloud, license and contractual spend. You translate financial, technical & process knowledge and insights into a roadmap to meet business and IT needs. You support (local) operating company teams with insights and recommendations to improve their cloud/license/contract costs and performance positions.
what you will be doing
- contribution to the software assets & optimization roadmap
- being the trusted advisor to local operating companies by supporting them with cloud and license costs insights, invoicing, reporting and recommendations to build and strengthen the IT foundation
- supporting financial chargeback models to the group and local operating companies
- driving the change to business value/application driven reporting
- supporting the harmonization and modernization of the application landscape (e.g. IaaS vs PaaS vs SaaS)
- you will be interacting with a large number of people and roles within and outside of the software assets & optimization team including but not limited to FinOps engineers, technical account managers, operations team, subject matter experts, cloud architects, business/finance controllers.
who will you work with
The software assets & optimization team consists of Finops (data) business analysts, both from Randstad and our IT partner. Together with the team you are a trusted adviser by bringing IT cost visibility and optimization initiatives to build a solid global IT foundation. You will report to the lead software assets & optimizations.
what you will bring
- solid background in complex and big scale IT environments (5+ years)
- solid financial understanding, expertise with (cloud) financial management tooling
- experience working with both centralized and decentralized teams
- you have strong experience engaging with global suppliers/partners to address challenges
- cloud services experience within at least one of the big cloud providers (AWS/GCP preferred)
- bachelor or master degree in Informatics or equivalent experience
- FinOps Practitioner certification is a plus
- coding experience with Python programming language is a plus
- hands-on experience with Cloudbees CI/CD pipelines is a plus
- Google Cloud Platform certification or AWS certification is a plus

- fluency in English with strong communication skills, written, oral and, face-to-face
- empathetic to the local choices and decisions but capable of interpreting these into a global and standardized FinOps design that maximizes business value within the commercial constraints
