Senior Cloud Analyst – FinOps

Seismic Cloud Engineering is seeking a Cloud or Saas Analyst with Cloud and or Saas Governance experience to join an exciting team that will directly impact multiple technical and financial aspects of our company. Get a chance to interact with all 4 major cloud providers including Azure, GCP, AWS, and IBM. Work on Cloud Governance projects such as: Reserved Instance planning, optimizations, vendor management, procurement, and financial tracking of engineering spend. Engage and support multiple engineering teams including development, compute and architecture. Cross-pollinate FinOps knowledge with multinational teams from the US, Europe and China.

What you will be doing:

  • Build, maintain, and improve real-time cloud cost and consumption dashboards
  • Provide forecasts for leadership and executive teams
  • Create cost optimization models with engineering teams that are utilizing cloud services
  • Work closely with financial and engineering teams on budget, forecast and expense reports relating to hosting/Saas
  • Drive cost optimization efforts by collaborating with Finance and Engineering teams across the organization, recommending and purchasing reserved instances & savings plans
  • Deliver the tooling and capabilities to enable our cloud financial management roadmap
  • Manage infrastructure spend across the company to ensure efficient consumption and usage
  • Support various teams in understanding their cloud bills based on their business goals and budget

What you bring to the team:

  • Experience working with cost management tools or models (buy and/or build) with Saas or Cloud vendors
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, etc.
  • Real world experience with BI and/or cost tracking tools such as Tableau, Intello, Salesforce, PowerBI
  • Experience in a Finance related discipline is a “nice to have” including budgeting and expense management
  • Experience with SQL based languages such as BigQuery or other database platforms is a “nice to have”
  • Exhibits sound business judgment
  • Strong analytical and data driven analyses
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills
  • Strong spreadsheet skills such using excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Self-Motivated individual comfortable with picking up new skills and driving initiatives
