FinOps Senior Manager

The Senior Manager, FinOps will support FinOps product ownership and governance of GSK’s cloud spend and drive best practices throughout the organization. This includes the creation and iteration of spend reporting at all levels of the organization and being the interface between Global Products & Technology, GSK’s cloud users (including business facing Tech teams) and Finance.

The FinOps Manager will have cross-functional awareness and expertise. The successful candidate will work closely with the vendor of GSK’s FinOps platform, engineering teams, financial managers, and GSK’s cloud users.

In this role you will…

• Configure and iterate reporting in a manner that maximizes the value GSK derives from its FinOps platform through cloud cost management
• Partner with GSK’s cloud users to obtain cloud spend forecasts and ensure their accuracy, providing this to the financial team
• Provide oversight of where GSK’s cloud users are at risk of exceeding monthly budget forecasts and handle escalations including to finance team and leadership
• Provide governance over cloud consumption optimization opportunities
• Analyze cost abnormalities and diagnose root cause
• Document FinOps processes and help socialize standards
• Automate reporting, delivery, communications, optimizations, and governance where possible
• Provide input and recommendations to engineering teams on FinOps features and bug fixes
• Defines and implements controls to streamline processes and support budgetary accountability

Qualifications & Skills

Basic qualifications:

• Experience with cloud financial operations
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrable experience managing and executing finance plans and budgets and providing analysis
• Demonstrable ability to work with reporting tools such as PowerBI to create meaningful visualizations to illustrate spend

Preferred qualifications:

• FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) preferred or obtainable within 90 days of hire
• Microsoft Azure AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals preferred
• Experience with VM Ware CloudHealth preferred
