As a Senior Cloud FinOps Analyst you will oversee Public Cloud spending with the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders with recommendations to drive optimal use of our cloud resources. This position requires active analytical engagement to facilitate, support and execute tasks in alignment with direction and goals for CFM organization. In your day-to-day role, you will:
Own analysis and recommendations based on Cloud consumption and cost data from Apptio Cloudability and directly from CSP sources (Cloud), as well as Cloud data from internally developed DBs/Tools, and data related to On Prem / Private Cloud
Action on activities stemming from standing / planned optimization & efficiency processes across PayPal and BUs
Support attainment of standing annual Consumption Optimization / Efficiency targets and well as Budget targets
Drive engagement with Workload Owners across PayPal, execute on optimization and efficiency work efforts to achieve annual goals and target KPIs
Support analysis and execution for financial engineering – apply knowledge of GCP/AWS/Azure financial instruments to action on applicable workloads and drive savings in cloud consumption
Support engagement with OCIO team on standing Forecast / Budget and longer-term planning and Business Case analysis efforts
Support engagement with CSP account teams and act on work effort within the scope of financial instrument application / financial management / consumption target attainment
What you need to bring
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, Finance or equivalent degree and experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
5+ years relevant experience as an Information Technology or Finance professional managing IT
3+ years of demonstrated experience and knowledge in public cloud
Knowledge of IT infrastructure and public cloud concepts
Experience working with large datasets and the development of data-driven models and designs for executive materials.
Ability to establish IT cost management strategies, models, processes, and tools.
Understanding of cloud billing practices and procedures
Advanced knowledge and skills in Excel and PowerPoint; proven knowledge of Apptio Cloudability ( or equivalent )
Ability to create data visualizations, including PowerBI and or scripting via Python, BASH, SQL, R, etc
Experience with AWS, Azure and/or GCP Cloud Certification; FinOps Practitioner, Cloud Financial Management, Total Business Management or equivalent certifications
Interpersonal, consultative and facilitation skills, coupled with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
