Senior Finance Analyst – Cloud Infrastructure

Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company. This is a remote position and to help our teams work together, you will be located in PST timezone.  As a majority of the Teams that you would be supporting are based in Australia, the ideal candidate for this role is available to work adjusted hours – meaning a later start in the morning and an later ending in the evening (i.e. online and available for meetings, Monday through Thursday until 8pm PST). In addition ideal candidates have the ability to travel between 15-25% of their to other Atlassian offices.

Our FP&A team exists to set long and short term growth targets, while helping the business make financially strategic decisions that support these plans. We’re hiring a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Finance Business Partner reporting to the Head of Cloud Infrastructure Finance, who is a finance professional with significant experience in cloud cost forecasting and management.

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable,
and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than
that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline.
Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate’s skills, expertise, or experience.
In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges
for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $135,300 – $180,400

Zone B: $121,800 – $162,400

Zone C: $112,300 – $149,700

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as one of the cloud infrastructure business partners, collaborating with Cloud FinOps, Engineering, R&D Finance, Corporate Operations, Accounting and others, to forecast, track and manage infrastructure spend
  • Lead planning discussions and project reviews to align on the financial impact of R&D initiatives, providing key inputs such as the infrastructure forecasting and related margin impact
  • Collaborate with FinOps and Engineering to track and monitor cost optimization initiatives, ensuring key initiative assumptions are accurate, and applicable infrastructure efficiencies are incorporated into the forecast
  • Engage with the business to execute on multi-year forecasting of infrastructure spend
  • Leverage visualization and mapping tools such as Tableau and Excel to conduct analysis, produce charts/graphs and support partner/internal engagements
  • Ad hoc analysis and special projects relating to cloud infrastructure

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and 3+ years in public cloud or infrastructure finance
  • Strong knowledge of SaaS/Cloud business models
  • Possess a current FinOps certification and /or AWS Fundamentals certification
  • Experience with at least one of the Public Clouds (i.e. AWS)
  • Proficiency with financial modeling and analysis tooling (Excel, Power BI, QuickSight, Tableau)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Finance, Accounting, Economics)
