Senior Product Manager – Cloud Optimization

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

• You will drive the evolution of your area of the CloudHealth product, collaborating with customers and software engineers to produce products within the CloudHealth SaaS platform that help our customers in your product area
• Improve our customers cloud KPIs
• Define and communicate regularly the product strategy and what informs that product strategy
• Inform that strategy with a wide range of qualitative and quantitative inputs and data

• Further increase the adoption of CloudHealth product including personas and use cases that access via GUI as well as those that access via API
• Facilitate the product lifecycle for your areas of the platform of ownership to keep the platform focused on the priority outcomes

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

• Defining the strategy to achieve the outcomes you are asked to lead
• Regular backlog prioritization and sprint planning in collaboration with your tech lead, including the key SaaS role of ongoing support for existing products customers are using every day
• Creating an excellent product experience in collaboration with your product designer
• Resolving issues and blockers that come up through agile development
• Inform your product strategy by regularly digesting your ‘portfolio of inputs and insights’ both qualitative and quantitative, from usage analytics, to customer conversations, to ongoing changes in the cloud industry
• Verify readiness of features for release, working with docs to ensure successful adoption, evangelizing and educating for the product in partnership with marketing, and continuously determining next steps for products and components in your area of the platform that are not delivering on their intended outcomes

The hiring manager for this role is Jonathan Morin, Group Product Line Manager leading the CloudHealth US product team. Jonathan originally VMware’s Networking and Security business in 2016 focused on NSX and moved to the CloudHealth product group in 2019. The CloudHealth product management team is made up of individuals with diverse backgrounds who are excited to both deliver net new products as well as evolve products with a massive user base, driving one of the lead SaaS offerings at VMware and delivering on the mission of maturing our customers cloud journey and Cloud Financial Management practices across the growing range of public multicloud application environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle Cloud, VMware Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, Kubernetes, and more).
