The Team: The selected candidate will be part of the S&P Global Technology’s cloud services team and thereby provide solutions architecture & thought leadership in driving our cloud strategy and adoption. Be the face of our cloud services team to our business teams and work towards common framework model, adoption of governance controls and measure drive NPS for cloud.

 

The Impact: Candidate will be responsible for helping drive adoption of strategy, and architecture and implement specific solutions as applications move to AWS, Azure & GCP. Candidate will work closely with cloud architects, engineers, devops engineers & BU cloud teams to drive common cloud goverannce models, ensure adoption of guard rails, work with funcational teams such as internal audit, finance teams to ensure compliance on policies and cost.

Responsibilities: 

As the Director of Cloud Solutions Architecture , the following will be part of your responsibilities.

 

  • Leveraging expert hands-on knowledge to design and direct the delivery of key platform, automation and governance features
  • Collaborating with business division architects to specify and document solutions and practices.
  • Developing and maintaining target state architecture and reference implementations.
  • Specifying and reviewing application solutions in collaboration with divisional architects.
  • Explore best of breed Industry tools and products to manage with ease a multi account AWS environment.
  • Drive adoption of architecture frameworks by working with BU cloud teams.
  • Ensure security standards are in compliance by working with various stakeholders including cloud architecture team, BU cloud teams, Infosec teams.
  • Work with other functional teams such as internal audit to ensure compliance of cloud policies and adherence to defined cloud frameworks.
  • Work with finance teams to ensure cloud cost is within projections and track forecast and expense.

 

 

Success in this role requires:

  • Hands on experience and knowledge of AWS including scaled multi-region deployments.
  • Earning respect with senior developers and architects across a diverse organization in the midst of a cloud migration with aggressive delivery targets; healthy appreciation of Conway’s Law.
  • Ability to work with ease with audience of different cloud personas and drive concurrence to common goal.
  • Understanding of cloud finance models and FinOps fundamentals.

 

 

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications: The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology/information management, engineering or related field required
  • 10 or more years of experience in service delivery management or technology infrastructure program management.
  • Practitioner understanding of one cloud solutions Vs AWS/ Azure or GCP
  • Working with VP and above levels and ability to clearly articulate technology solutions and finance models.
  • AWS Practitioner level certifications, or equivalent professional experience
  • Advanced computer science degree or relevant technical degrees and experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A practical approach to balancing architectural purity with business delivery objectives
  • Passion for leading change and ability to bring others along

 

Nice to haves include:

  • Software development background
  • Finance industry experience

Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates):

 

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $138,400 to $261,400. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographical location as well as experience and qualifications for the role.

 

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
