Cloud FinOps Specialist

About The Role

Due to the rapid growth of our public cloud business we are seeking a Cloud FinOps Specialist to join our Spark Group Sourcing team.

In this newly created role you’ll be responsible for providing our customers with accurate and expert guidance on usage reporting, monthly billing, and cost optimisation. You’ll ensure clients have the visibility of their cloud consumption to make informed decisions, and provide recommendations on optimising spend through the judicious use of commitment plans and license hybrid use rights.

The Cloud FinOps Specialist will work closely and effectively with customers, internal stakeholders, and our key cloud partners, to ensure our services are delivered in a consistent and accurate manner.

Day To Day You Will

  • Provide advice and recommendations to customers on optimising their public cloud spend
  • Manage the lifecycle of Reservations and Savings Plans, include purchase, usage monitoring and renewal
  • Track the application of Hybrid Use Benefits
  • Assist the cloud team with complex billing scenarios and queries
  • Generate ad-hoc consumption reports for customers

Experience And Skills

The successful candidate will be an analytical thinker and successful problem solver with the following skills:

  • Experience of at least one cloud vendor’s billing processes
  • Familiarity with Cloud Financial Management concepts
  • Experience with cost monitoring toolsets (native and/or 3rd party)
  • Process driven with a passion for service improvement
  • Report creation skills – Power BI dashboards a plus
  • This is a client facing role, so you will need to be comfortable talking and presenting to external stakeholders

Experience with at least one of AWS, Azure or GCP is essential.
