Cloud FinOps Analyst

Who we are looking for

Charles River Development is rapidly growing its Software-as-a-Service platform. We are looking for a hands-on, well-rounded FinOps Analyst role for our growing Cloud FinOps team. What you will be responsible for

  • Partner with SaaS, engineering, and Finance teams to implement and maintain robust FinOps practices with the goal of creating a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE).
  • Analyze cloud utilization data from Azure and AWS to identify cost optimization opportunities.
  • Develop and implement cost-savings strategies, including right sizing resources, analyzing reserved instances and savings plans opportunities, and leveraging spot instances.
  • Maintain, build, update dashboards and reports to provide clear visibility into cloud consumption, resource utilization, and spend, providing customer contribution model .
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to promote a culture of cloud cost awareness and accountability, leveraging appropriate chargeback models.
  • Evaluate vendor contracts and agreements to ensure alignment with business objectives and cost-efficiency.
  • Forecast future cloud costs and develop budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and best practices adoption.
  • Stay up to date on the latest FinOps best practices and cloud cost management tools.
  • Reviews the competitive marketplace and adjusts operationalize activities based upon identified information.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field. Master’s degrees or professional certifications are a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis or cloud cost management.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts (Azure, AWS preferred)
  • Experience with cloud cost management tools and data analysis platforms (e.g., Cloudability, Cloudhealth, Power BI).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
