Finops Cloud Consultant

The Finops Consultant will develop, implement, and manage operations processes and procedures relevant to the optimisation of Cloud Services from AWS and Microsoft Azure.The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the financial services industry, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

Planning and analysis:Responsible for developing and implementing plans and strategies to ensure the organization is managing Cloud Service costs, while maintaining high performance and complete capacity needs to meet the business requirements. This includes analyzing data, preparing reports, forecasting future Cloud usage needs, and developing risk management strategies.

Budgeting And Cost Management

The Finops specialist is responsible for creating and managing budgets for the organization, tracking costs, and ensuring that the company stays within its allocated budget. This includes monitoring expenses, creating financial reports, and recommending cost savings.

Regulatory Compliance

A Finops specialist must ensure that the organization is compliant with all relevant financial regulations, including those related to taxes, accounting, and auditing. This involves staying up-to-date with changes in regulations, filing required documents, and maintaining accurate records.

Risk Management

Manage risks associated with the company’s operations. This includes assessing potential risks, developing strategies to mitigate them, and monitoring the company’s exposure to risk by the use of AWS/Azure Services.

Financial Reporting

Responsible for preparing and presenting financial reports to stakeholders. This includes creating financial statements, analyzing trends, and providing insights into the organization’s cost optimisation.

Internal Controls

Ensures that appropriate internal controls are set and are properly functioning. This includes developing and implementing internal controls, monitoring compliance with them, and performing regular internal audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Experience in cost-effective compute services, pricing, billing options, supply-demand matching, Storage and cost optimization of Cloud tools and services
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial operations
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices
  • Proficient in using financial software and other financial management tools
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
